You'll never want to buy hummus from the store again when you try this delicious oil-free hummus that comes together with just a few ingredients in only 10 minutes. Makes for a great wholesome spread or snack. Enjoy on toast or in sandwiches, or make a hummus plate with pita bread, olives, and chopped veggies.
Chickpeas (or garbanzo beans) originated from the Mediterranean and are now enjoyed in many parts of the world. They are a great source of fiber, providing 20% of your daily needs in just 1/2 cup. They can help to stabilize blood sugar, and may lower cholesterol making them a great, heart healthy food.

Number of Servings: Makes 2 cups hummus
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
1 15oz can chickpeas (or 1.5 cups cooked chickpeas)
1/4 cup aquafaba
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup tahini (stir before measuring)
1 - 2 cloves fresh garlic, sliced
1/2 tsp smoked paprika or chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp salt, to taste
Parsley, for garnish (optional)
Serve with: pita bread, naan, toasted bread, olives, chopped veggies, just to name a few!

Instructions
1) Add all of the ingredients to a food processor and blend until creamy (1 to 3 minutes). Scrape down the sides and continue to blend if needed.
2) Taste and adjust seasoning to taste.
3) Add the hummus to a bowl or deep plate and garnish with cumin, smoked paprika/chili powder, and parsley. Enjoy!
