Mango Spinach Green Smoothie

Green smoothies are a great way to add in some extra fruits and veggies into your day and get a natural caffeine-free energy boost. You won't taste the spinach in this healthy green smoothie thanks to the sweet mango. Blend everything up for a quick and refreshing smoothie packed with nutrition to start your day right.

Smoothies are a great source of fiber, and important vitamins and minerals. Mango is an excellent source of vitamin A and C. Just one smoothie provides 230% of your vitamin A needs and 110% of your vitamin C for the day. Spinach is an excellent source of vitamin A and K. The hemp seeds are a good source of plant-based protein, B-vitamins, and many minerals including magnesium and zinc.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup favorite plant-based milk*

  • 2 cups frozen mango cubes

  • 1 cup baby spinach, packed

  • 2 Medjool dates, pitted and rough chopped (or sweetener of choice)

  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds*

Tools You Will Need

  • Blender

Instructions


Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.


Notes


- Aim for a plant-based milk that is higher in protein and fortified with calcium and vitamin D. Soy and pea milk are the only milks that have comparable protein to dairy milk. Some other milks like almond milk may have protein added, so be sure to check the label.


- Hemp seeds can be replaced with the same amount of wheat germ
